Vecpils (Altenburg) Catholic Church is the third oldest Catholic church in South Kurzeme. The church was built in 1700 from boulders, with tile roof and tower. Vaulted ceiling is made of unplaned boards and the floor of burned clay slabs. The church has three altars, which were built at different times. They are decorated with icons and carvings. Various carvings also decorate the organ and the “master” chair. Under the altar was a large cellar – crypt of de Rapp family, but in 1831 the entrance of the basement was bricked up.
