European Mobility Week is an annual initiative of the European Commission for Sustainable Urban Mobility since 2002. It calls on European cities and towns to devote one week to sustainable mobility.
Various events will take place also in Liepāja this week:
Bicycle ride “Car-free day” | September 16
Gathering at 11.00 at the Liepāja City Hall building, Rožu street 6. The bike ride will start at 12.00.
Cycling tour “Get to know Karosta!” | September 17
To popularize cycling, we invite you to take part in a cycling tour as part of the European Mobility Week. Gathering for the excursion at 12.00 on the promenade near the Amber Clock. The length of the route is approximately 15 km, and the duration of the excursion is planned to be approximately 4 hours, therefore the participants of the excursion are invited to bring snacks. Excursions in public transport | From September 18 to 22
Every evening 17.30 on the regular route of the bus Nr. 4 from the M. Ķempes iela to Atmodas boulevard, you will have the opportunity to listen to the story of a knowledgeable guide about the history of Liepāja and Karosta. The tour will last the entire trip – approximately 40 minutes – and will end at the destination – Atmodas Boulevard. The number of places on each excursion is limited, so those interested are invited to apply by phone at +371 29 402 111.
