Officers’ District in Karosta

This will be a story about the greatest and strongest tsars of the Russian Empire, about seven regimes, and the unusual fortress that was never used in warfare. You’ll hear about the beautiful swing bridge, officers’ balls, a Russian polar explorer who served in Karosta for three years, the Cathedral with its matte grey domes, the park, the heroes of the War of Independence, the port, the sea, and carrier pigeons.

Personalities and Events in Jaunliepāja Through the Centuries

Jaunliepāja holds many interesting stories.
