16 craftsmen of the Kurzeme region gather here at the House of Craftsmen. They are more than happy to tell visitors about their craft and traditions. Their workshops are located on two floors of the building. Visitors can see the process of creating a national costume on a loom, the making of silver jewellery, ceramic art and wickerwork, creations from leather and amber.
On display at the House of Craftsmen is the longest amber necklace in Latvia – 123 metres long and weighing 19.5 kilograms, made from 17,000 pieces of amber that were given as a gift by locals of Liepāja. Also on display are national costumes that are over a hundred years old as well as ones that are brand new.
There is a little shop on the first floor of the building where visitors can buy the many different things the craftsmen have created in their workshops.
Next to the House of Craftsmen are several applied arts studios.
