The museum is set up in Apriķi Manor, the baroque ensemble of which is built in the early 18th century. The museum tells a history of the county. A separate exposition is created to tell about of the residents of this manor, Gustav Mannerheim, who later became a president of Finland.

Along with old things you will find a couple of hundreds of dwarfs in the mansard style roof of the museum.

The manor’s complex includes a Master’s house, a barn and a Steward’s house. The Master’s house was constructed before the 1742, but its octagonal three-storeyed neo-gothic tower was a 19th century addition. Most of the other buildings – barn, brewery, and mill – were constructed in the second half of the 19th century and a small landscaped park was also developed at the same time.
Apriķi Manor had been owned by the von Osten-Sacken family since the 16th century, and from 1790 to 1852 – by von Korff family.
