The swimming season began on Wednesday, May 15th, marking the completion of all preparation and installation work for equipment and amenities. The Lifesaving Service has started its patrols at Liepāja Beach.

From now until September 15th, visitors can enjoy public amenities such as benches, changing cabins, bicycle racks, showers, water fountains, and trash bins free of charge.

Lifeguards will be on duty daily at both Blue Flag swimming areas (Central and Southwest beaches) from 10 AM to 10 PM until mid-September.

Visitors are urged to strictly follow the Lifesaving Service’s instructions and warnings, cooperate with service personnel, and familiarize themselves with the information available at the beach.

The swimming areas will be marked with a total of 36 bright red buoys placed at a safe distance from the shore. These buoys will be deployed by the end of May or the beginning of June, depending on weather conditions and water temperature.

Information boards in both swimming areas provide details about beach zoning, water safety, the meaning of lifeguard flag signals, and rules for visitors. Throughout the swimming season, these boards will be regularly updated with Health Inspectorate data on water cleanliness and other information.
