In 1899 Liepāja became the first city in the Baltics with an electric tram line which was the most modern mode of transportation at the time.
There is currently one 15 km long tram line in the city, its tracks meandering through most of the city. The 30-minute trip from one end to the other allows you to see not only the centre, but also residential and industrial areas of the city. Remember to get off the tram at the last stop and purchase a new ticket before heading back!
By booking in advance, it is possible to take the tram with a guide who will tell you about the city. A ride both with the old tram and the new low–floor tram is offered.
